Timeline

Day 1 of the project

One the first day I collected the materials around my house and put together my painting station.

Day 2 of the project

On the next day I put on a second layer of primer. After, the primer set and I started to start the sketch out the panting, I was not happy with the sketch that I had done so I had to primer the board one last time then I created a sketch on a separate piece of paper so I knew what I wanted it to look like.

Day 3 of the project

Day 3 I started to paint the letters of the painting(first coat) Then let it dry over night

Day 4 of the project

Day 4 I completed the second and third layer of the painting latter it dry for at least an hour in between layers.

Day 5 of the project

Day 5 I started to paint the background of the painting(black) with a sponge paint brush which took about 45 to 60 min of just that then I did the touch-up paint around the letters to make it look a little more neat.

Day 6 of the project

Day 6 I made the letter in the mural pop by making the amount of white space around the letters. This day I also put a second layer of the black paint but this time I used a brush.

Day 7 of the project

Day 7 I added color detailing around the corners of the board, with the colored paint I feel that the color made the project more interesting and made it look better.

What is the meaning of this project?

During this project I am trying to prove that the world does not just stay nice and you must be able to take care of this planet. Through doing your part and make sure that you tell other people do there part the world we be cleaner and nicer for a longer period of time and allow the people living on it to live in a great and clean environment. This is why the mural states "Do Your Part." Also this project allows me to spread the word about keeping the word nice.

P. S. make sure you do your part in keeping the world a nice place.

Steps of the project

Painting a mural "DO YOUR PART"
                          Constructed by Scott Hetrick
Estimated time of around one weeks time to complete

Step one: sight up for the ESLP Project; to create a mural to brighten up the school and spread a message.

Step two: Materials from home:
                 -piece of 1x3 wood
-multiple colors of paint for the project.
                 -multiple sizes of paint brushes
                 - one jumbo brush for applying the primer
                 -one can of primer
                 -painting surface
-newspaper to protect the surface that you are using to paint on

-pencils to apply the sketch to the premiered board
                 -painters tape

Step three: Primer the 1x3 wood multiple layers

Step five: paint out your sketch that you did before

Step six: apply a second layer of paint to the board

Step seven: hang the mural on to the wall at Willow Glen High School

Prices

For this project I am spending no money at all. I am using materials from my last project such as old paints, scrap wood and the same primer that I used for the last mural service project. I felt that it was the good thing to do by not spending money because I am creating painting about protecting the world, so I did not want to waist materials from past projects. By buying new materials I would be wasting wood(trees).
